I’m a second-year math postdoc at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, in the topology group. Overall, I’ve got a real soft spot for the different manners in which crazy abstract category theory manifests in (differential/complex/symplectic/TBD) geometry. In particular, using (various derived categories of) sheaves to study the topology of singular subsets of (real or complex analytic) manifolds.
This blog is first and foremost an attempt to organize my thoughts and notes together in one place (for future reference). Second, it’s an attempt to force myself to truly grok these techniques through pedagogy. This is for you, internet-traveller and reader-of-math-blogs.
